24 February 2020
From 18-23 February 2020, during the Milan Fashion Week, our Frame Condé Nast Experience Store hosted Vogue Talents pop-up shop, a space centred around the next generation of Italian brands. For the first time, Vogue Talents, the Condé Nast Italy’s platform that paved the way for a new generation of fashion creatives, sold the collections of the brands it champions, as well as giving them visibility.
The offering consisted of clothing lines MRZ by Simona Marziali and WRAD by Matteo Ward, Silvia Giovanardi & Victor Santiago; jewellery brand Acchitto by Elena Faccio and Francesca Richiardi; Mani del Sud accessories by Raffaele Stella Brienza; and three labels specialized in bags - Iuri by Jure Stropnik, Nico Giani by Niccolò Giannini and Michele Chiocciolini.
Synonymous with Made in Italy excellence and partner in the initiative, Alcantara invited Nico Giani, Michele Chiocciolini, Mani del Sud and Iuri to recreate some of their most iconic items using this material, which is known for its versatility, functionality and texture. The new pieces were then sold within an ad-hoc area at Frame Condé Nast Experience Store.
During the week, the Vogue Talents pop-up store held several events dedicated to the future generation of creatives and to fashion lovers:
Portfolio Review
On 19 February, two editors from Vogue Talents’ office hosted a portfolio review for students in fashion design and designers selected among those who sent their work to portfolioreview@condenast.it.
Head Hunter
On 21 February, a fashion recruiter from Between Design Research, a headhunting consultancy with a 20 years’ experience working with major international fashion and design brands and with branches in Milan and Shanghai, run one-to-one interviews with aspiring candidates who had their curriculum assessed by an expert and the opportunity to become part of their pool of talents.
On 23 February, Frame Condé Nast Experience Store hosted the presentation of Instant Moda by Andrea Batilla, designer and textile research expert for some of the leading houses in Made in Italy and director of IED – Istituto Europeo di Design for five years. Published by Gribaudo, the volume offers an excursus into the history of fashion and its most significant protagonists with a focus on some of the most legendary female figures and an analysis of various fashion professions. The talk with the author was moderated by Vogue Italia editor Elisa Pervinca Bellini.
